Training

We want Takatāpui and Rainbow folks to be safe and welcome every time they access any kind of support.

That’s why we offer training and cultural supervision for all those working with Takatāpui and Rainbow people, of all ages. Our training is useful for kaimahi working in specialist services, but also policy makers, service managers and everyone interested in understanding more about how family violence, sexual violence and elder abuse impact us, and what changes can be made to improve the service we receive.

Rainbow Safe – in person

We offer interactive, one-day Rainbow Safe workshops for community networks or individual agencies, co-facilitated by experienced Takatāpui and Tauiwi trainers.

Our training will help you to provide safer places for our communities to ask for help. Recognising assumptions your service may be making will help shift practices which may be barriers for Takatāpui and Rainbow survivors. Learning more about the ways violence may be unique or different for us is important to becoming a Rainbow Safe service.
