Rainbow Wellbeing Network

The Rainbow Wellbeing Network is a network of Takatāpui and Rainbow kaimahi and allies working in social services in the Waikato. We meet at least four times a year to develop warm referral pathways, improve access to local and regional services that are necessary for Takatāpui and Rainbow people and to grow social service ability to create wellbeing for our communities.

We also provide an email list to highlight wellbeing and violence prevention activities, training and research for our members. The network is open to anyone who wants to join. We have members all over Aotearoa who can join online activities, but currently we are only able to facilitate kanohi ki te kanohi engagements in the Waikato.

Whakapapa

The Rainbow Wellbeing Network was established in 2021 after Hohou te Rongo Kahukura facilitated a community hui, looking at what was needed to prevent and respond to violence for Takatāpui and Rainbow people in Kirikiriroa Hamilton.

The outcomes of this hui included a submission to Te Aorerekura, and a strong desire to continue building the community network. We are grateful to Rainbow Hub Waikato for their early support, and are proud to continue to host the network.
